55-year-old John Bartley of Harry Hill, Amity, Westmoreland was watching a cricket match at an establishment in his community when a neighbour accused him of fencing the path that he used to walk.
The suspect that shot and killed 55-year-old John Bartley is said to be from the parish of St. James and recently moved into the neighbourhood.
Approximately, 7:30 Friday night John who is a farmer was enjoying a cricket match with other community members when he was approached by the suspect.
The suspect accused John of fencing off the pathway that he customarily used to travel to his home.
It is reported that the man in question, then, left the establishment where he saw John and returned with a firearm which he used to shoot John in the head.
John Bartley died on the spot.
The suspect is said to have fled the scene on foot. However, shortly after the incident, irate residents set his home on ablaze.
