Following Thursday’s operation by the police, the citizens of Darliston, Westmoreland are feeling a little safer as law enforcers shot and killed one of the gunmen that have been terrorizing residents for some time now.
Fear has gripped the once peaceful community of Darliston, Westmoreland, for quite some time as the citizens have been plagued by criminal elements.
According to the police reports, a team went into the vicinity of Orange Hill (lower Darliston) in the parish about 4:30 a.m. and was greeted with gunfire.
A shootout ensued and two men were fatally shot by the police during the operation in Orange Hill (lower Darliston), Westmoreland early Thursday morning.
It was later discovered that one of the men killed was listed as most wanted in the parish.
He has been identified as 28-year-old Demaine Williams, also known as Bad Indian of Orange Hill (lower Darliston) in the parish. Bad Indian was wanted on charges of several counts of murder and shootings with intent.
The other gunman is said to be from the district of Grange Hill in Westmoreland.
Two firearms were recovered during the operation in Orange Hill (lower Darliston), Westmoreland on Thursday morning.
